After several years of being a Patron for the charity Tiny Life, Jamie had to step down in order to persue personal charitable endeavours. He is now the Patron of a new charity: Northern Ireland Pancreatic Cancer
The charity NIPanC is being set up in partnership with two national charities, Pancreatic Cancer Action (PCA) and Pancreatic Cancer Research Fund (PCRF), with the new group focusing on Northern Ireland. It aims to Increase public understanding of this cancer – Promote awareness of the signs and symptoms to both medical professionals and members of the public – To help fund vital research – To support patients and their families.
Jamie’s mother Lorna died from the disease in 1998 when he was just 16. He revealed the loss still has an impact on him 20 years later:
“I look back on that time and see it in a very blurry way.I was very young, I was 14 when my mum got diagnosed and had just turned 16 when she died. It has an ever evolving effect on me, that loss, and I wouldn’t wish it on anyone. I feel like every single day it has an effect on me in ways which I am aware of and some ways I think I am not aware of. But, I am not alone in that, lots of people have lost people that are very dear to them at a young age. That’s the sad thing about this illness particularly, it seems to get people young, who often have very young families. I’ve always wanted to be associated to a charity that means something to me in a major way. It all seemed very fitting I could do whatever I can promote awareness of this horrendous disease“
Jamie attended the launch of NIPanC charity on August 1st with his sister Jessica and their father Jim (President of the charity). You can find several pictures from that day in the gallery, and you can watch three videos below including interviews of Jamie talking about the disease and his mother.
A few weeks ago, host radio Stephen Clements from Q radio (Belfast), aired a rap from himself on the song Stan by Eminem, where he pretends to be a fan of Jamie. You can listen to it here: LINK
After several days, Jamie replied to his rap and the radio aired his reply this morning. You can listen to Jamie’s rap below.
This rap battle was for fun of course, but also for a serious cause because Jamie and Stephen raised money fo the charity Tiny Life, for which they are both patrons. You can still donate money on this link: LINK
Finally, you can also find a new picture of Jamie for Tiny Life in the gallery.
Today is a big day because it’s Jamie Dornan’s birthday! On this May 1st 2016, he celebrates his 34th birthday! I wish him an amazing birthday and a new year filled of projects and love with his wife and children!
As every years, I realized a project for his birthday! It is a comic book on Jamie’s life with 34 drawings as he turns 34. Thanks a lot to Virginie who drew everything for the book. Feel free to tell me what you think of our work. I put the book online on this LINK but I will order it and give it to Jamie next time I see him! Moreover, thanks a lot for your participations and the money you sent because we managed to raise £1.100 for the charity TinyLife !
Today it’s also the anniversary of the site because we chose to open it on May 1st, 5 years ago. “Jamie Dornan Online” is celebrating its fifth anniversary this year! For five years now I try to provide daily news of Jamie.Thank you all for your support and your visits, which are still increasing! Thanks for your support on social media too.
Finally; as Jamie is still in Canada for the filming of Fifty Shades, the cast and crew were able to wish him an early happy birthday this week as they don’t film on Sundays. Today E.L James shared a picture of her and him on her Instagram. Check it in the gallery.
One more time, as each year since the opening of our site, we’re planning a project for Jamie’s birthday (May 1st). We always try to do something different and this year we’re making a project even bigger. It is made of three parts and here’s all the details:
Fight On For Annie charity:
Jamie recently showed his support to this charity wearing a purple FOFA wristband with his father. For Jamie’s birthday, we partnered with FOFA in order to raise money for this charity fighting against pancreatic cancer; the reason why Jamie lost his mother when he was younger. We’ve decided to give you the possibility to win a tie signed by Jamie! He signed this tie for Lisa who was with Anthony (from JDO) during the London Premiere of FSOG. So we thank her for taking part to this project too by offering her tie.
If you want to win it, you have to donate at least £2 to the charity, and the winner will be picked randomly among the donations on May 1st. To enter the contest, make the donation, see pictures of the tie, or just to get more detais, go on this LINK
Same project, but this time for the charity TinyLife! This charity helps premature babies in Northern Ireland with Jamie being one of their patrons since 2013, as well as his father Jim. To help this charity dear to the Dornan family, we partnered with TinyLife to give you the possibility to win a Fifty Shades of Grey poster signed by Jamie. All the money will go to the charity.
If you want to win it, you have to donate at least £1 to the charity, and the winner will be picked randomly among the donations on May 1st. To enter the contest, make the donation, see pictures of the poster, or just to get more detais, go on this LINK
Fanbook “Why Do You Love Jamie Dornan?” :
Finally, here’s our fan project for Jamie’s birthday this year. Until now, all our birthday projects were virtual (video, web page…), but this year we’ve decided to create a real fanbook. Your messages will be included in this book and we’ll do our best to give it to Jamie.
To participate (until April 15), go on this LINK. All the details are written there so please read this page.
Thanks for your participations! We hope all these projects will please Jamie.
As you probably know it, Jamie is one of Tiny Life patrons. The charity is dedicated to reducing premature birth, illness, disability and death in babies and provides a wide range of support services to families of premature and vulnerable babies.
This year, Jamie takes part to the 2015 campaign of the charity called “TinyLife Dads need suppport” You can find a picture of the campaign in our gallery.
To support and make a donation to the charity you can text TINY to 70707 (£5) or check their official website www.tinylife.org.uk
Here is Jamie’s message for the campaign and about the charity:
Jamie Dornan I have grown up knowing all about the wonderful work of TinyLife as my father, Professor Jim Dornan was a founding member of the organisation, back when it was known as NIMBA. Now, as a new dad myself, I am inspired by the incredible work of this local charity.
From humble beginnings, the charity has grown into a diverse organisation offering a range of complimentary services all whilst still maintaining its roots in vital medical research. Since its inception in 1988, TinyLife has supported a number of invaluable research projects including the development of surfactant (a wonder drug that allows premature baby’s lungs to work effectively) which is now making a difference to premature babies being born worldwide. I am extremely passionate about the work of TinyLife and that is why I am delighted to be a patron.
